Three Juices to Help Rid Yourself of Mucus

Mucus—it’s something we’ve all experienced at some point. It acts as a protective barrier, lining the moist surfaces of your body such as the nose, throat, mouth, and lungs. Mucus traps irritants like dust, bacteria, and allergens before they can enter your system. It also plays a key role in your immune system by keeping your airways clean and lubricated. When you’re fighting an infection, your body produces more mucus to trap and remove invading pathogens.

However, an overproduction of mucus can become problematic. Excess mucus can build up in your airways, making it difficult to breathe properly, increasing your risk of infections, and causing irritation in your throat or chest—especially when paired with a persistent cough. According to the renowned Dr. Sebi, mucus is “the root of all disease.” He suggests that when the body is in an acidic state, it produces excess mucus to protect itself. Sebi believed that by addressing the underlying acidity in the body and reducing mucus through an alkaline lifestyle, we can help the body naturally restore balance and achieve optimal health.

With this in mind, I’m featuring three juices to help rid your body of excess mucus and support detoxification. These include a red, orange, and green juice—natural remedies designed to help your body fight mucus and promote overall wellness.
